As a partner at KPMG since 1998 and the leader of its Hartford tax practice, Mark has served U.S. and foreign-based publicly traded and privately held clients in various industries, including consumer products, specialty chemicals, aerospace and defense and industrial products. A large part of his practice is devoted to advising on business transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations and international expansion, and representing clients before federal and state tax authorities. Mark also serves as a quality review partner, reviewing other operating offices and client engagement teams for professional practice compliance and technical accuracy.
Mark graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He began his career as an auditor in the Hartford office of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co., a predecessor to KPMG. After transferring to the tax department, went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Taxation at the University of New Haven. Mark is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, where he currently serves on the Relations with Colleges and Universities Committee. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Hartford Club.
